Happy New Year! So, finally, 2020 is over and honestly, I am happy to put 2020 behind me. It has been a stressful year at times, not only for me, but for many of us. I went from working full time, to working from home, (something I have always wanted to do) to being unemployed. Having said all of that, though, I have to remind myself of the good and what a perfect opportunity to share some of that good with you. Here’s some good. My husband and I flipped our first house and sold it, with multiple offers, during a pandemic. I still have my friends, (old and new); I still have my husband, my daughter, and my sister. My sister moved and is closer to me now and we see each other every day. I still have family; and though some of my friends and family have been sick, I have not lost anyone to Covid. If I have not learned anything else from 2020, this year has taught me to be grateful for everything that I still have and for much more.
Before this year ends, I want to say thank you for those who have supported my blog. I have wanted to start this blog for many years and have talked about it so much prior to 2020, that it was becoming too embarrassing to continue to talk about it because of how long I had been talking about it. (sheepish smile). I was basically paying for a blog spot that was just sitting there with either nothing, or a few drafts.
However, something happened in September, which allowed me the time, the incentive, and the motivation, to finally get started. And I am very grateful for that time. I realize that what held me up for so long was just fear, pure and simple. I still have a lot of work to do on my blog, but I am up for the challenge of making this blog better and growing as a seamstress, and a diyer of all manners.
So, without further ado, let’s start this recap of my posts for 2020. I started the blog in September, and though I have only had about 3 1/2 months of crafting and posting, here are my posts.
Here are my top 3 posts, and why they made the list.
Favorite No. 1 Simplicity S9012 Ruffled Dress.
This is my top favorite because I like the length of this dress, the really great fabric, and how feminine it is. I made it to wear to a wedding. The wedding did not happen because of Covid, and I have been waiting on an opportunity to wear this super cute dress.
Favorite No. 2 Simplicity S9141 Peacock Print Sundress
When I saw this pattern I almost screamed in the store. I was thinking, OMG, I love it and there are only a few pieces. However, it turned out to be a lot of work. But the finished product is totally me, and I made it again shortly thereafter. This dress is a perfect sundress, and if you love this bohemian look for summer, you should definitely try it.
Favorite No. 3 Simplicity S8911 Full Length Caftan
Clearly this is one of my favorites. I have only made it like 4 times! The pattern speaks for itself. It’s glorious! And I feel glorious when I am wearing it.
As always, thank you for letting me share with you. Please leave a comment, I love reading them. If you have not done so, please subscribe.
And, in parting. Happy New Year! I wish you and your family God’s best, always. May your year be filled with lots of love, laughter, delirious happiness, and good health.
It may have taken you longer than you wanted to get started but, WOW, look what you have accomplished, girl! This is the beginning of something wonderful! I just know it! I can’t wait to see your next creation!
Thank you Leslie. I really appreciate your support. Always.
