DIY Fashion Sewing

Hello. It’s Me.

Hello.  It’s me.  I know it has been a very long time since the last time I posted, but I wanted to give you an update on what’s happened since the last time I made an appearance.  Since October of 2021, I have only posted two times.  This McCalls M7878 Wrap Coat and this Vogue 9112 Asymmetric Tunic.

But, just because I have not been posting, it doesn’t mean that I haven’t been creating and/or thinking about posting since my last posts.  I am always thinking about creating, and always thinking about posting. Always. But time has not allowed me the privilege.  There have been so many changes in the last year.  Sewing, creating, and just making brings me  joy.  And so does this blog.  I have truly missed it.  Just sitting here, creating this post makes me giddy.  I know right!  All smiles.  I miss it so much.

So, I guess you are wondering, “Well, if you miss it so much, why haven’t you been doing it?”  Before I answer that, let me tell you why I created www.SewZaizay.com when I did.  I started my blog in 2020 after I got laid off from my job.  That was in September 2020.  The layoff was covid influenced, and I found myself unemployed.  So, since I was laid off anyway, I decided it was a good time to start my blog, which I had been putting off for years.  I allowed fear to keep me from starting it for years and after I got laid off, I officially ran out of excuses.  I now had the time.  Well, I was able to start the blog and create content on a fairly consistent basis.  Almost weekly.  But I realize I am not the only person who started something during the pandemic, and had to let it go (for a minute), because life kinda went back to a “new normal.”

After about a year of not working [outside the home, that is], I felt like it was time to go back to work.  My husband and I sold our house, bought a new house, and I returned to work in early October 2021.  I have had very little time since going back to work and moving.  No time to sew, no time to blog.  And I miss it.  I honestly don’t have the free time I had before, nor do I have the resources.  (i.e. the park where I took most of my pictures).  Since moving, I have not been able to even find a good place to take pictures. I didn’t know at the time, how valuable the spots where I often took pictures for my posts, were. I don’t have all of those delicious areas with beautiful scenery and foliage at my fingertips like I had in our previous neighborhood.  So, this is a new challenge as well.

The god news for me is that I believe I am ready to start posting again.  I can’t say how often, but I can say the desire to sew and share what I’ve made on the blog is still there.  Thank goodness for that.  I definitely won’t blog as often as I did when I was not working outside the home, but I will certainly post more often than I have in the last year.   Maybe some of the posts may be just what I am thinking, where I visited, or what I read.  And I hope you stick around to see what’s going on.

What kind of changes have you experienced in the last year?  Have you had to let some things go as well?  Share in the comments section.  I know I can’t be the only one who has experienced so many changes in such a short period of time.

Until next time, thank you for allowing me to share with you.  Thank you for listening.  In the meantime, I will be making my life better, one project at a time, and I hope you do the same, for yourself and others.
